Privacy Policy

Void Loop (“the app”) is developed by Roberto Battaglia (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data is handled when you play Void Loop on iOS or Android, or visit this website. The short version: the app has no accounts and we operate no servers or databases of our own — your settings, scores, and progress stay on your device. The data that does leave your device is handled by the third-party services we rely on to show ads, to measure how the game is played, and to deliver app updates, each described below.

Data stored on your device

Your settings, scores, progress, missions, and purchase entitlements are stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes it.

Usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

To understand how the game is played — which screens people reach, how long a session lasts, whether a release is working — the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase, provided by Google. It reports:

App usage — screens viewed, first launch, session starts and length, and similar in-app events.
Device and app basics — device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and a coarse (roughly country-level) location estimated from your IP address.
A randomly generated app-instance identifier — tied to this installation, not to you. Clearing the app’s data or reinstalling resets it.

Two limits are built into the app itself and cannot be switched on later. Analytics never collects your device’s advertising ID or Android ID, and analytics data is never used for advertising, ad targeting, or remarketing — it is measurement only, kept separate from the advertising described below. Collection is switched off when the app starts and begins only after you have answered the age question and the ad-consent step has completed.

We see only aggregated reports — for example how many players reached a given screen — and cannot identify you from them. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy, linked below, and deletes it after the retention period set in our Firebase console. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Unless you have purchased the “Remove Ads” or premium upgrade, the app shows ads through Google AdMob, provided by Google. To serve, measure, and protect ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares the following with Google:

Device and advertising identifiers — such as your device’s advertising ID (Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA) and app-set ID.
IP address and approximate location — your IP address, from which a coarse (roughly city-level) location may be estimated. We never collect precise GPS location.
Ad and app interactions — such as ad impressions, taps, and app-launch events.
Diagnostics — technical and performance data, including crash and performance logs, used to keep ads working.

Google uses this data for advertising, ad measurement and analytics, and fraud prevention, and processes it as an independent third party under its own privacy policy. On iOS, the app will not access your device’s advertising identifier for cross-app tracking unless you grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Where required by law (for example under the GDPR in Europe), you are shown a consent choice before any personalized ads or tracking; if you decline, only non-personalized ads are served. You can change or withdraw your ad-consent choice at any time from the app’s settings, and manage Google ad personalization at the links below.

App updates

The app checks for over-the-air updates through Expo’s update service (operated by Expo, Inc.). When it checks, standard technical information — such as your IP address, platform, and app/runtime version — is sent to Expo’s servers so the correct update can be delivered. This is not used to identify you or to advertise. See Expo’s Privacy Policy.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive your name, payment details, or billing information. The resulting entitlement (e.g. ads removed) is stored locally on your device and can be restored through your store account.

This website

This website is a static page. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics — the usage analytics described above apply to the app only, never to this site. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security purposes.

Data sharing, selling, and “sharing” for ads

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your data with anyone beyond the advertising, analytics, and app-update services described above. Some US state privacy laws (such as the California CPRA) treat the use of advertising identifiers for personalized ads as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out of this by declining personalized ads when prompted or, on iOS, by not granting App Tracking Transparency permission — after which only non-personalized ads are shown.

Data retention and deletion

Your game data lives only on your device, so deleting the app deletes all of it, and we hold no personal data about you on systems of our own. Usage-analytics data is held by Google on our behalf and deleted after the retention period set in our Firebase console; for data processed by Google for ads, refer to Google’s privacy controls linked above. Your privacy rights

Because we run no accounts or servers of our own, most requests concern data processed by Google for ads and usage analytics. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of personalized advertising. Residents of the European Economic Area and the UK may also lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority. International data transfers

Our advertising, analytics, and app-update providers are based in the United States and may process data in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from your own. Where required, such transfers rely on safeguards like the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

The app is intended for players aged 9 and over, so its audience includes children as well as adults. On first launch it asks how old you are. That answer is stored only on your device — it is never sent to us, to any ad network, or to anyone else — and its sole purpose is to decide which kind of advertising you may be shown.

For players under 13, and for anyone who has not answered that question, we mark every ad request as child-directed. Google’s advertising SDK then stops transmitting the device advertising identifier, disables interest-based advertising and remarketing, and limits ads to those rated suitable for general audiences. Players aged 13–17 are treated as being under the age of consent, which likewise disables personalized advertising. Only players who tell us they are 18 or over may see personalized ads, and only where they have separately consented.

The usage analytics described above work the same way for every player regardless of age: no advertising ID, no Android ID, and never used for ad targeting or remarketing. Those limits are set when the app is built, so they apply to children and adults alike.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us at voidloop.app@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change (for example, if online features are added), this policy will be updated and the effective date above revised before the changes take effect.
